Liquidation Imbalance
Net long-vs-short liquidation pressure.
What it measures
Net long-versus-short liquidation pressure: (long − short) / (long + short) liquidation notional, bounded in [−1, +1]. A value of +1 means the window's forced flow was purely long liquidations (a flush of longs); −1 means a pure short squeeze. It condenses the direction of forced flow into one bounded number, independent of its absolute size.

Point-in-time, leak-free
Like every QUANT_API feature, liquidations.liq_imbalance is computed point-in-time: each value uses only data that had actually arrived at the timestamp you query — live or historical. No restatements, no backfills that quietly rewrite the past, no look-ahead. The value your backtest sees at a given stamp is the value the live API would have returned at that stamp.
